'Back to Our Roots' Set for 31st March 2007

The Organizers of Ghana @ 50 Reggae show for the celebration of Ghana's golden jubilee show dubbed "BACK TO OUR ROOTS" have announced 31st March 2007 as the new date of the show after an earlier announced date of 16th March. The show initially slated for 16th and 17th March features Marlon Asher of Ganja Farmer fame and Steel Pulse. SD promotions point man DJ Skelly Dred, says all is set for the new concert date and reggae lovers can look forward to an intense performance on the 31st. Reggae is arguably the most political musical form on earth. Born of the descendants of slaves in dirt-poor Jamaica, reggae has always been about overcoming social injustice, racism and exploitation. Marlon Asher has created a new street anthem for music lovers the world over and last weekend was supposed to have been the concert date for a collabo concert between him and Steel Pulse, but logistical constraints held back the show according to the concert coordinator, DJ Skelly Dred. Perhaps the most direct and overtly political of the bunch is Britain’s Steel Pulse. The band had fired up for a great concert before the promoters decided to pull out last weekend’s concert.
