Stephen Appiah play for juventusStephen Appiah is the heart of Ghana's Black Stars team both on and off the field. He earned the nickname Tornado due to the fact that he is very dominant in midfield and is also very strong.

A combative player, Stephen Appiah has a strong engine and good tactical awareness. Appiah began his career at local club Hearts of Oak in 1995, at 15 years of age.

In 1997, the blackstars midfielder moved abroad to join Italian club Udinese Calcio in the Serie A championship. Stephen Appiah spent three seasons with the club.

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
Black Stars captain steven AppiahIn July 2005, Appiah was transferred from Juventus to Fenerbahçe, the defending Turkish champions, for €8 million. He won the Turkish Super League Championship with Fenerbahçe in their centenary year.

At the end of the 2006/07 season, Stephen Appiah expressed a desire to move on from Fenerbahçe SK although the club wished to extend his current contract.T

he long-term injury also forced Appiah to miss the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in which Ghana beat star field Ivory Coast to win bronze.

 
 

 
 

SteApp Clothing lineSteven Appiah was on trial with London based football team Tottenham Hotspur FC in January 2009 with a view to a 6-month permanent contract, however concerns over his knee and fitness resulted in no contract being offered, as Spurs took up the option of signing Wilson Palacios from Wigan Athletic instead.

Despite being without a club since his departure from Fenerbahçe in June 2008, Steven Appiah remained a regular with the Ghana Black Stars.
