Having visited many campuses around the United States, Canada and UK, we can authoritatively say the University of Ghana is one of the biggest (land area) in the world!  Its Botanical Gardens alone covers an area of approximately 25 hectares and it has a stadium too!.

The University of Ghana provides 78 undergraduate and 25 graduate programmes in various fields.  It is currently the most diverse student population amongst the universities in Ghana. There are many international students from the United States who study at legon on exchange / study abroad program.

With the hotels built to international standards, serene environment surrounded by trees and beautiful landscaping, legon is the place to be.

With a student population of about 30,000 the University of Ghana is the largest University in Ghana.

There are currently 17 institutes/colleges locally which hold affiliation with the University of Ghana for the purpose of enrolment, teaching and award of degrees and diplomas of the University.

It has LEGON CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS (LECIA)

University of Ghana has attracted the most talented faculty with extraordinary capacity for research and extension, making their programs more and more attractive than ever before.

Many international universities and tertiary institutions have established links with Legon.

Indeed, the number of visiting professors of international reputation to the University has increased tremendously
